Principal's Message
Ms. Moira Kennedy
Buffalo Trail Elementary provides a nurturing environment where students are inspired to think, learn, achieve and care. Our focus on high academic expectations is combined with a goal to develop a strong sense of character in students. We work to develop respect and responsibility in all facets of school life.
Our rigorous curriculum has an academic emphasis in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. All students (K-5) will have routine exposure to physical education, music, art, and research and media skills. Technology is integrated throughout the instructional day.
Buffalo Trail features several programs to enhance our classrooms and support the needs of our students, including Gifted and Talented, Special Education and intervention support across all grade levels. We provide differentiated and culturally relevant instruction to meet the needs of all children. We believe in cooperative learning that is hands-on, fun and engaging.
Our school can only be as strong as the partnerships within it. We strive to connect staff, students, and parents to create a challenging, child-centered learning community. Our teachers employ solid instructional practices, and focus on assessment and accountability. Together, we breathe life into our school mission: To inspire every student to think, to learn, to achieve, and to care.

Dear Buffalo Trail Families,
As we wrap up another wonderful school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support, involvement, and partnership. Our students have grown so much—academically, socially, and emotionally—and that growth wouldn't be possible without your encouragement at home and the dedication of our outstanding staff.
Summer is a special time to relax, recharge, and reconnect. I encourage all of our families to take time to enjoy the sunshine, explore the outdoors, and make memories together. Whether it’s a picnic in the park, a bike ride through the neighborhood, or simply sharing a meal without the rush of busy schedules, these moments matter.
While summer should be fun and refreshing, it’s also a great opportunity to keep young minds active. Please make reading a part of your family’s summer routine. A few minutes each day with a good book can make a big difference in keeping skills sharp and fostering a lifelong love of learning.
Thank you again for a great year at Buffalo Trail Elementary. I’m so proud of all that we’ve accomplished together, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall, ready for another amazing year.
